Karen's Samples from 2011 and before
What crafts do I do:
Baking fancy breads, designing, sewing and hand-weaving.
I love to weave to create items like place-mats, purses, pretty clothes, ornaments, bowls, scarves.
After cleaning house I have been collecting samples of crafts I have created.
I always thought that I have not created that much, but what a
collection I found. I am still looking for some of my sweaters and
other garments to show some of my sewing, knitting and crochetting
skills. (Come back and see what was found.)
This is a partial sample of my work.

As you can see there are many crafts. I will give you a small discription of each item, starting from the far left.
Scarf #1 (cool blues, greens and purples) is a plain weave dyed cotton.
Scarf #2 (warm greens, yellows and browns) is a plain weave chenille
acrylic. Scarf #3 (Christmas green and white) on the loom is a plain
weave acrylic. Scarf #4 (White with a sparkle) is M's & Os cotton
and silver thread weave. Scarf #5 is a variation on a twill weave hand
painted tencel (Tencel is manmade fibre from wood pulp cellulose).
Scarf #6 (multi-coloured) is knit silk. Scarf #7 (brown to pink) is
knit silk with beads added.
The green belt is a multi-patterned woven with hand painted and
commercially dyed tencel. The (blue and yellow) wine gift-bag is huck
weave with hand painted and commerically dyed tencel. Pillow (beige and
white) is M's & O's weave of cotton and linen. The purse is same
weave and material as scarf #5 with a braided handle. Blanket (blues
and purples) is a knit acrylic with crochetted edging. At the edge of
the picture are some blue and white cotton placemats in the sumac pattern.
The reindeer is woven bamboo, while the twin bowls are woven paper painted with silk fibres.
